Yesterday, I reported on the only book to receive four mentions among eight different \u201cbest of 2016\u201d lists for crime, mystery, and thriller fiction, and the three mentioned three times. Below are the books receiving two mentions. All the others\u2014just over 60 books in all\u2014were mentioned only once. So there\u2019s lots of \u201cbest\u201d books out there. \nHis Bloody Project<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>by Graeme Macrae Burnet \u2013 combines a legal thriller and literary game so well, it wound up on the Man Booker prize shortlist.
\nI Let You Go<\/em> by Claire Mackintosh \u2013 \u201cA clever combination of police procedural and psychological thriller,\u201d says CrimeFictionLover.com, <\/em>which begins with a child\u2019s hit-and-run death.
\nMissing, Presumed<\/em> by Susie Steiner \u2013 A missing woman\u2019s nearest and dearest may not be telling the police the whole story.
\nRise the Dark<\/em> by Michael Koryta \u2013 Investigator Mark Novak is taunted by a recently released prisoner who claims knowledge of Novak\u2019s wife\u2019s murder.
\nThe Second Life of Nick Mason<\/em> by Steve Hamilton \u2013 Convicted murderer Nick Mason gets a surprise early prison release and must try to build a new life, and goes about it all really, really wrong.
\nThe Trespasser<\/em><\/span><\/strong> by Tana French<\/a>, provides another outing of the fascinating Dublin Murder Squad.<\/p>\n
